Attack of the Insecticons  

Beachcomber takes a last look at he beauty of the underground cavern. Then he continues straight ahead on the path.

He has entered a narrow, twisting tunnel. Every few yards he checks his sensors. They tell him that he is not getting any closer to the surface. But at least he isn't getting any farther from it.

Or is he?

The passage has begun to twist and turn. Side paths lead off from it. And now Beachcomber's sensors are beginning to give him conflicting data.

His magnetic sensors tell him that he is on a route straight up to the surface. But his seismic sensors indicate that he is deep within the mountain.

I must have entered an area of magnetic disturbance, he thinks. Well, I still have my sonic probe, but it is too weak to penetrate the dense rock.

Now he is feeling weaker himself. With sudden panic, he realises that he has spent too much time in this passage.
